Soapstone & Melvin Hazen Parks & Trails
Bill Sittig has lived on Yuma Street, NW with his wife and son since
1983. He retired from administrative positions at the Library of Congress after
40 years of service. He holds a BA in political science from Williams College
and a Masters Degree in information science from Columbia University. He
served in the US Army 1966-68, including 15 months in Viet Nam.
Bill has served on the ANC’s Soapstone and Melvin Hazen, Parks & Trails
Committee and the Van Ness Vision Committee. As a commissioner he has
prioritized improving sidewalks and streets, protecting the area’s environment,
improving traffic flow and safe traffic conditions, and ensuring sensible
development on Connecticut Avenue.
